Last year, we offered nearly 100 classes (98) from 60 experienced instructors, totaling over 120 hours of hands-on courses, lectures, and panels over three action-packed days.
But in 2025, we're setting the bar even higher as we're aiming to expand our line-up and deepen our offerings -- and that's where you come in.
Submit Up to Four Class Proposals
We're eager to receive class submissions from instructors like you, covering a wide range of styles, weapons, techniques, and time periods.
We encourage diversity and creativity in class offerings, whether they align with traditional HEMA curriculum or venture beyond those boundaries. If you have a unique perspective to share, we want to hear from you.
What to Consider Before Submitting
Please keep in mind that submitting a class proposal does not guarantee an invitation to teach at SoCal Swordfight 2025.
Our selection process involves reviewing all submissions to ensure they align with our event's goals and schedule. Factors such as class availability and uniqueness will influence our decision.
Instructor Requirements
Instructors invited to teach at SoCal Swordfight 2025 are typically asked to contribute approximately 10 hours of staffing across the event, which may include class instruction. In exchange for your commitment, we'll cover the full cost of your event registration. You'll receive a registration code that waives our registration fee when you sign up on our website.
