Zucken: Fuhlen in Action

Course Description:
Zucken (often translated as ‘pulling’) seems at first blush like a modest entry in Liechtenauer’s Haupstuck but closer examination reveals it to be an excellent medium for developing Fuhlen (‘feeling’, a sensitivity to the presence of your opponent’s sword) and through that, the Indes.

We will focus on the context, biomechanics, and application of the Zucken as a way to build up a sense of Fuhlen, looking at both its theoretical place in the Zettel and its practical use in the fight.

Required Gear:
Longsword (steel preferred, synthetic permissible), protective gloves, mask. Jacket and forearm protection highly recommended.

Course Level:
Open to All Levels

Course Format:

Your must register for the event to attend classes
