Instructor Bio: Steaphen Fick
Steaphen Fick started fighting with European bladed weapons in 1989. He competed for 25 years in and out of armour, and retired from tournaments in 2013 with his final tournament being in Amsterdam. He has taught on 3 continents, and has taught in North America, the UK, Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. He has also competed in battle reenactments in England, Scotland, Wales, and at the 600th anniversary of Agincourt.
He started Davenriche European Martial Artes School, DEMAS, in 2000, and now has a 15,000 sq. ft. dedicated HEMA school in San Jose with over 130 students and 6 instructors. At his school the curriculum includes longsword, grappling, dagger, rapier, rapier and dagger, side sword, sword and dagger, sword and buckler, armoured combat, sword and shield, quarterstaff, and archery.
DEMAS is also the home of the DSOC Killhouse. a dedicated airsoft field with mobile walls that allow us to change the layout of the field every game weekend so no one can memorize the field.
