Dean has been practicing HEMA since 2012, and teaching since 2016. While his primary focus remains early KdF longsword, Dean's dedicated studies over the last decade have included multiple styles of rapier, sidesword, messer and wrestling, alongside broader survey of a number of other 15th & 16th century sources and systems. His primary HEMA goal is to embody each specific source as a distinct style, informed by both its content and context.
