Gabriel Pottebaum has been involved in HEMA for 13 years, and has experience in modern Olympic fencing and knife fighting systems. He’s won medals in multiple tournaments using messers, sabres, singlesticks and rapiers. Gabe has been crippled from birth with a condition called Poland’s Syndrome, and thus strives to set an example for differently abled people and make Historical Martial Arts training as inclusive and accessible as possible.

Indes Ferox Gladio

Indes Ferox Gladio is a club offering instruction and support for fencers of all experience levels, and runs regular classes multiple times a week. They also run a beginner longsword series four times a year for new students.

Indes Ferox Gladio works with their community in the Portland area to bring regular public HEMA demonstrations to block parties, renaissance fairs, and more. They also hold regular tournaments and seminars and strive to bring HEMA to the general public.
