SoCal Swordfight is a three-day celebration of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) — the study and practice of real sword fighting techniques drawn from medieval and Renaissance-era combat manuals. Founded in 2012 as a small Southern California tournament, the event has grown into a globally recognized gathering that draws over 1,200 participants from across the country and around the world.

SoCal Swordfight is not a Renaissance faire or a reenactment. It’s a modern martial arts event grounded in the historical record — participants study techniques from centuries-old fencing manuals and put them into practice through competitive sparring, tournaments, and intensive training.

What sets SoCal Swordfight apart is its culture — a blend of competitive intensity, deep educational programming, and genuine community warmth. Participants don’t just attend the event; they become part of a global family united by a shared passion for martial history and the discipline of the sword

• 27 Tournaments across multiple weapons — longsword, rapier, spear, dagger, dual sidesword, saber, and more — with divisions for Open, Under-Represented Genders (URG), and Youth (U18)
• 120+ Hours of Hands-On Instruction — workshops, lectures, and panels taught by 70+ expert instructors from around the world
• Antique Weapons Showcase — a curated exhibit where attendees can view (and in many cases handle) historical arms, armor, and manuscripts dating back centuries
• Vendor Hall — featuring top HEMA brands, sword makers, protective gear manufacturers, artisans, and specialty retailers from across the globe
• Thursday Evening Reception — a free welcome gathering on March 19th to kick off the weekend
• Championship Finals & Awards — Sunday evening culminates with tournament finals for our Tier A competitors and closing ceremonies open to spectators

$250 of your sponsorship will need to be paid in cash, the remaining balance can be covered through donations.

If you are interested in joining in person at SoCal Swordfight 2026 to showcase, sell or sample your products, you should add on vendor space to your sponsorship package.

Higher sponsorship tiers provide a discount for your space, and include entry passes for yourself and your team to attend SoCal Swordfight 2026.
