James is a student of the KdF tradition, the principal instructor at Goliath Historical Fencing Academy, and widely regarded as one of the premier coaches in the world of historical fencing. He's been invited to teach at Longpoint, WMAW, VISS, The International Meyer Symposium, Octoberfecht, Texas Sword Retreat, all many times over. He focuses on targeted, student-by-student skill development, grounded in a strong theoretical framework. He strives to cultivate knowledge and technical execution that builds confidence. His goal is that each student leaves with a new, reliable capability.
