Instructor Bio: Frank Perrin

Frank Perrin is a New England based Historian, Historical Martial Artist and Stunt Performer. He has been involved in all three fields professionally at one level or another since the age of 15, where he began performing as an actor-combatant on the cast of the Connecticut Renaissance Faire.

Frank is the co-fouder of Bayt al-Asad, a group dedicated to the research, practice and education of the fighting arts and cultures of the Islamicate world from 7th-16th centuries. The group aims to spread information on these often over looked parts of the world through the practice of historical martial arts, experimental archeology and academic research.

Additionally, he is an active member and competitor in the Mounted Archery Association of the Americas . He holds a Master's Degree in Public History from Central Connecticut State University and works as Ancient Civilizations teacher at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy in Cumberland, Rhode Island.

Frank regularly provides historical consultation and is actively serving as a researcher for The Mamluk Project, a project that aims to translate "Kitāb al-makhzūn jāmiʻ al-funūn" a 15th century Egyptian warfare and martial art's manuscript.
