SoCal Swordfight 2026
Jane Strange
San Diego Swordfighters, California, USA
Jane started HEMA at a club in Vancouver, Canada in 2014. Since then she has coached, competed, and taught across North America and Europe. Her primary focus of study is German longsword, through which she has found reasonable competitive success: Jane was one of 10 representatives from North America at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, and has medalled internationally in open and women’s longsword tournaments.
As much as she loves fencing, Jane’s real passion is coaching. She prioritizes creating a safe and fun environment for people to excel, and she is most interested in sports psychology, skill acquisition, and tournament performance.
