Mary is the owner of Swordplay LA, Los Angeles premiere sword training space, and began her journey in combat sports 20+ years of experience in competitive fencing, earning multiple national medals and a NCAA Division 1 fencing scholarship. Additional experience includes 9 years of European weapons training with a focus in single hand weapons. Mary also trains  Balintawak Arnis (Level 5) and boxing (5+ years). Currently she teaches fencing and HEMA classes with a focus in competitive tactics and strategy. Her several years of high level combat sport training allow her to specialize in teaching combative themes such as setting traps with footwork and tempo, understanding distance and timing and maintaining the competitive mindset. 

As a female club owner and coach, Mary creates a safe and inclusive space in Swordplay LA where anyone can learn and explore all things swords!
